I have used 74.5% Potassium Chlorate, and 25.5% Powderd sugar, gently packed into a 3/4 ID tube, with a length of three inches. 1/2 inch wall tube, no nozzle. In small rockets I don't often add any sodium Bicarbonate, or Barium carbonate, but in rockets exceeding 1" ID, I add between +5%-+10% of sodium bicarbonate, or +3%-+9% Barium Carbonate.. Large rockets I tend to put a nozzle 1/2 the thickness of the OD of the tube, and have a vent hole of 1/4-3/5in.
